Maturity

Liz matures overtime in the novel when she starts getting used to Elsewhere and when she starts to find who she really is. At first, Liz didn’t understand the fact that she needed to move on with her life. Every person she met in Elsewhere, has helped her mature and fit in. All characters had advice to help her and their own story to tell. According to coastalmommies.com, teenagers need change to be able to try new things and find what they like. If parents give their teenagers what they want their kids to be like, the teens won’t know who they are.

Drew Seeley wrote a song called "Maturity"

  1. It's kind of funny how

We admire maturity
And burning ourselves
With so much guilt and worry
See with simplicity
With age we forget it
And the children we ridicule
Cause they still get it

And where did the easy times go
Do you feel better now that you know

And what’s so great
At the end of the day please tell me
Of being grown
And everything that comes along with it
Ignorance is bliss
Tell me what would you miss
About maturity

This song shows that people want to mature but they're not doing the work to mature and not trying. She matured from looking at life through a different perspective.
